Working a deal

From inbox to pipeline

The inbox holds listings you’re considering. Tracking one moves it into your pipeline as a deal you’re actively working.

The inbox

Your Inbox lists the listings your workspace has imported. Sort by any column, filter by location, sector, or financials, and open a listing to see its fit check and scorecard.

  • Track in pipeline turns a listing into a deal and moves it out of the inbox.
  • Remove takes a listing out of your inbox. You can import it again from Search later.
  • Inbox listings you haven’t tracked are cleared out after 90 days. Listings you added manually are kept.

The pipeline

The Pipeline is shared with everyone in your workspace. Deals move through these stages:

  • Interested: where every tracked deal starts.
  • Contacted: you’ve reached out to the broker or seller.
  • Evaluating CIM: you have the confidential information memorandum.
  • Under DD: you’re in due diligence.
  • Closed: you bought it.
  • Rejected: you’ve decided not to pursue it.

Move a deal by dragging its card on the Kanban board or with the stage dropdown. The table view sorts by deal, stage, price, SDE, broker, or last activity. Closed and rejected deals are hidden there unless you tick “Show archived deals”.

In a workspace with more than one person, assign a deal from the “Assigned to” dropdown. The person you assign gets an email and an in-app notification.

When you tracked a listing

Tracking makes a private copy of the listing for your deal, so you can rename it and correct its facts without affecting anyone else. If the listing named a broker, numanknows links them as the deal’s contact and adds them to your broker contacts.
