Getting started
Set up your buyer profile
Your buyer profile is the yardstick every fit check, scorecard, and daily match is graded against. It takes a few minutes and every field is optional.
What it asks
Buyer profile is a four-step form. Each step saves when you click Continue, so you can stop at any point.
- What you’re looking for: industries to target and avoid, target geographies, and whether you’re open to relocating.
- Deal economics: minimum annual profit, maximum purchase price, maximum down payment, and an optional maximum price-to-profit multiple.
- Financing: capital available, the salary you need from the business, and how far along you are with a lender.
- Background and timeline: your experience level and when you want to close.
When you finish, you’ll see a summary of your answers. “Add detail with numan” opens an optional chat where you can describe what you’re after in your own words. That chat uses AI credits.
Why it matters
numan can’t score a listing without something to score it against. Until your profile has at least one of target industries, minimum profit, maximum price, or a free-text description, listings won’t get fit checks, daily matching has nothing to match, and instant alerts stay quiet.
You can edit any step later. New fit checks use your latest answers.
