Finding deals

Importing listings

Four ways to get a listing into your inbox: from the catalog, by pasting a URL, with the browser extension, or by typing in an off-market deal.

From the catalog

Search lists every active listing on numanknows, from marketplaces and broker submissions. Filter by keyword, location, sector, SDE, and multiple. If your buyer profile is set up, “Match my buyer profile” narrows the list to listings that fit.

Click Import on any row to add it to your inbox. Fit scoring then runs in the background, so the scores are usually ready by the time you open the listing.

From a URL

On the Inbox, click Import from a URL and paste a link to a single listing (not a search results page). numanknows fetches the page, pulls out the facts, and adds the listing to your inbox.

Supported sites: BizBuySell, BizQuest, Empire Flippers, Quiet Light, Acquire.com, and Flippa. For anything else, use the browser extension.

  • Some pages are slow to load. If one takes more than a few seconds, you’ll see “still working on it” and the listing appears in your inbox when it lands.
  • You can import up to 10 listings by URL per hour, and failed attempts count toward that.
  • Each import uses AI credits to read the page.
  • If a site blocks the request, the message suggests capturing the listing with the browser extension instead.

With the browser extension

The Chrome extension captures the listing you’re looking at on any site. See Use the browser extension.

An off-market deal

For a deal with no listing page, such as something a broker told you about, click Add a listing manually on the Inbox. Only the title is required. Manual listings are private to your workspace: they never appear in the catalog other buyers search.

What numanknows keeps from a listing

We store the facts (price, SDE or EBITDA, revenue, multiple, location, sector) and a short summary written by numan, and we always link back to the original listing. We don’t copy the seller’s marketing text or photos.

Listings you capture with the extension or upload become part of the shared catalog, so other buyers can find them too. Only listings you add manually stay private.
